About petra Burek

Petra was born and raised in the Czech Republic. During her time in college, she attended courses covering classical drawing. Petra spent the next several years studying in the United Kingdom at the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture, and Design where she obtained a degree in Design. In 2010 she moved to Switzerland. After a few years working in the Interior Architecture and Design field based in Zurich and Berlin, she realized her passion and the importance of creativity in her everyday life.

As Frank Lloyd Wright said, “Art for art’s sake is the philosophy of the well-fed.”

Petra has been always influenced and fascinated with nature and its beauty. She has always searched for inner fulfillment that is closely linked to the ambiance of the space she lives in. Her endless search for this feeling of peace and fulfillment is largely reflected in her work. She is looking for aesthetic poetry without mystery and beauty in the scenery. Petra has a natural affinity for nature and adores her likeness, perceiving the world, both natural and man-made with innocent sincerity. Many artists in the 18th century were aiming to catch the beauty and harmony of nature with John Constable being one of Petra’s favorite artists. She looks and captures special places with the beauty that grabs her describing all that she sees without manipulation. Her aim is, to keep these memorable moments of beauty alive on her canvas the way she sees it.
